Choosing a coach is just like any other professional relationship: you should take your time and make sure you find a coach who is the right fit for you.
Three tips to choosing the right coach:
- Interview at least three coaches. This will help you get a sense of each coach's unique style and personality to see if it's a good fit.
- Try the free consultation. All coaches generally offer a free consultation to help you decide if the coaching relationship is a good "match." If the coach does not offer this, you should reconsider working with that professional. You want have confidence in the person who will be helping you realize your dream job—how can you do that without talking with them first?
- Look for strong credentials and good rapport. Choose the one you feel most comfortable with based on your rapport with each one and your objectives for the coaching. Make sure they have the right credentials…
